Kailan and David’s Mozart Room Reception

David and Kailan (LaFrenz) Neff celebrated their wedding reception at the elegant Mozart Room in the Bavarian themed Lodge Hotel on May 19, 2012.  There were 245 guests present and they sure had a great time!

The new Mr. and Mrs. Neff

We have to go back about five years in time to my original introduction to the Neff Family.  Back in June 0f 2007 I was honored to help Katherine Neff and Geoff Gibson celebrate their marriage at the historic Abbey Hotel ballroom in Bettendorf Iowa.  Sadly, the Abbey Hotel no longer exists as a venue for weddings, but it sure is nice to go back and remember all the good times that we had there over the years.  Kat and Geoff’s wedding reception at the Abbey was one of those really good times that I have never forgotten.  Here are a few choice photos from that event:

One of the big hits at Katherine and Geoff’s 2007 wedding reception was this “Bee Suit”. At least a half dozen people took turns wearing the suit, including myself. This picture is a little misleading, but the sailor wearing the suit actually has a drink in his hand, so things are not as they appear at first glance!

Fast forward 5 years and I was thrilled to be asked to DJ for Katherine’s brother David Neff at his May 19 wedding to Kailan LaFrenz.  I knew we would be in for another fun night!

Here are some photo highlights from David and Kailan’s party:

Kasey and John-A Volcano Wedding Reception April 16

A brisk wind and April snow flurries couldn’t dampen the spirit of Kasey Ciccarone and John DeTombe on their wedding day.  After all, this couple had stared down the barrel of a tsunami and braved cold mountaintop temperatures in John’s effort to create a unique and extreme engagement setting.

After a 4pm wedding ceremony at Old St. Annes Church and a brisk photo session the wedding party arrived at the Mozart Room at the Lodge Hotel.  Guests enjoyed appetizers and the sound of the Avey Brothers Blues Band while waiting for the wedding party arrival.

Members of the wedding party included parents Pat and Ed Ciccarone and Chuck and Hilde DeTombe.  Ushers were Tom Timm and Shawn McBride.  The Flower Girl was Eden DeTombe and the Ring Bearer was Daniel Rosse.  Bridesmaids were Sara DeTombe, Gail Timm and Sheri Martin.  Groomsmen included Bob Stracuzzi, Ed Ciccarone and Justin Wilber.

The couple’s Matron of Honor was Kelly Royster and the Best Man was Steve DeTombe.

The wedding party entered the room to “Master of Puppets” by Metallica and Kasey and John entered the room to Lil Jon’s “I Do” and a round of cheers and applause from the guests.  Even Elvis was there to party!

Kasey and John went immediately to their wedding cake, which was a replica of a volcano.  Yes, it was a real edible cake.  The volcano was a representation of the unique setting of John’s proposal on top of Mt. Mauna Kea on the big island of Hawaii.

The father of the groom welcomed guests with heartfelt speech and blessing and then the guests enjoyed a buffet dinner.

Kelly Royster and Steve DeTombe presented speeches and offered a toast to the bride and groom after dinner.  Kasey and John thanked the guests for coming and then it was time to party.

After hearing the premier of Kasey and John’s Love Story ( a feature offered by Black Tie Entertainment) they danced their first dance to “At Last” by Etta James.

The dance floor opened to guests at around 8:30 pm.  Guests also enjoyed an anniversary dance and the traditional bouquet and garter toss.

The DJ dancing portion of the evening concluded with a “Circle of Love” with all of the guests encircling Kasey and John for the final dance of the evening.  Afterward some of the members of the band entertained the remaining guests with a guitar and lead singer.

It was a great night to celebrate indoors after the brisk snow showers and stiff wind earlier in the day.  Kasey and John will always have those unique memories of their April wedding day!  They are a fun couple and are truly meant for each other.

Thank you to Kasey and John for letting me help you celebrate your big day.   I wish you all the best!

Although the temperature outside was in the single digits, the Garmisch room at the Lodge was warm and cozy.  The wedding guests of Hannah and Jimmie Horton enjoyed celebrating with the bride and groom on January 24, 2009.  Hannah and Jimmie got the guests ready to celebrate when they made their “Grand Entrance” to “Celebration” by Kool and the Gang.  Speeches and toasts were given by Monte Asbury (Father of the Bride), Avery Horton and Erin Petersen (Best Man and Matron of Honor) and Bishop Jimmie Horton Sr. (Father of the Groom).

The guests enjoyed a plated dinner served by the Lodge.  After dinner and socializing Hannah and Jimmie’s Love Story was presented by Black Tie Entertainment, and then it was time to heat up the dance floor on a cold winter night.  Here is the vendor team and some of the highlights of Hannah and Jimmie’s perfect winter wedding reception:
